Meet the person behind Wood Work

Bacho Liparteliani

Founder of Wood Work

I became interested in wood carving many years ago, as a result of my love for art and traditional handicrafts. Over time, this passion has grown into a professional activity. For me, wood carving is not only a job, but also a form of self-expression and a continuation of Georgian cultural heritage.

My work is wood carving. I make unique, hand-carved wooden works – mainly icons, souvenirs, traditional Svan seat for the head of the family (Makhvshi) and cult items. The products are made using traditional methods, by hand, with minimal use of modern equipment. I mainly use natural wood (walnut, lime, oak), natural oils and wax.
